Artificial Intelligence Policy

This policy aims to set ethical and scientific standards regarding using artificial intelligence (AI) in manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Innovative Research in Teacher Education (JIRTE). The main goal of this policy is to ensure the correct use of AI in writing and analyzing academic articles and to protect the principles of data privacy and academic integrity. This policy will be updated when necessary depending on the developments in AI tools' use, usage, and capacity. This policy adheres to JIRTE's ethical principles and publication policies.

AI tools can only be used to check the manuscript's grammar, spelling, and stylistic consistency to be submitted to the journal.
JIRTE is committed to not using AI tools at any stage of the manuscript evaluation process.
Considerations in the Use of AI:
1. Transparency and Responsibility (Accountability): Every process where AI is used must be transparent. The stages and methods of use, as well as how the data is collected, should be clearly stated, and the contribution of AI should be expressed. JIRTE will provide the author statement in the relevant section of published articles.
2. Accuracy: The accuracy of the content/information produced by AI should be determined, the data obtained should be checked and verified through sources.
3. Responsibility: The author is responsible for all data generated as a result of using AI. For this reason, the author should meticulously examine the points where AI is utilized and know that the responsibility lies with him/her.
4. Impartiality: Authors should clearly declare potential conflicts of interest and act in accordance with the principles of impartiality. Regular auditing and evaluation processes should be established to ensure the impartial use of AI.
5. Privacy and Security: The confidentiality and security of personal data must be protected. The privacy of the parties should be respected, and appropriate security measures should be taken in data collection, storage, and processing processes.
6. Source Citation: AI should not be included in footnotes and references. The use of AI should be stated in the ethical statement.
